REVIEW FOR SESSION ON WOMEN'S HEALTH
As part of Women's March 2009, Alliance Francaise, the University of Hyderabad, Moving Images and Goethe-Zentrum are conducting a talk on
women's health. This session is dedicated exclusively to create knowledge and understanding in the field of women's health, a theme that is still a taboo for women and suffers neglect in both, private and public spheres.
2 of the city's leading medical practitioners, Dr.. Rooma Sinha (Gynecologist) and Dr. P Raghu Ram (Breast Cancer Specialist), will address issues, particularly of cervical and breast cancer, to equip individuals for early detection, and for living with the medical condition. The sessions will be held in Telugu, Urdu, Hindi and English.
Women's March is a month-long series of events organized by Alliance Francaise and Goethe Zentrum, in order to commemorate the occasion of Women's Day, which is celebrated on 8th March. The events include Duo Rosario with a French opera singer, a video iInstallation by Shilpa Phadke, a lecture by Kalpana Sharma, a panel discussion on 'Women and Media' with Kalpana Sharma, dance performances, a play by Pritham Chakravarthy, and a French artist in residence.
