Magna Open Rapid Chess Tournament: Events in Hyderabad

The specialty of the people who gather here is that they all think at least 2 steps ahead. Which is 2 steps more than George Bush can. Yes, we'd say there are a lot of people here who can be the President of the US, given their standards!

Magna Chess Academy is organising the Magna Open Rapid Chess Tournament on 7th January at its office in Magna Chambers, Lenaine Estate, opp Cherma's, beside SBH Gunfoundry branch, Abid Road, Hyderabad.

The tournament will be played in the open category, with 5 rounds. In the children's category, however, there are two separate tournaments, one in the Under-11 category and the other in the Under-15 years category, which will be held on the same day.

The total prize money in the open category is Rs. 5,000, with the first prize being Rs. 1,000. The top 10 winners will all receive cash prizes. However, children in the Under-11 and Under-15 will be awarded cups and goodies.

Players in the open category will have to register one day in advance, while players in the age group categories can register on the same day by 11:30am at the venue. The registration fee is Rs. 120 for open category and Rs. 100 for children category, per head.
