Professor Mark Lindley will present a series of three lectures on the history and characteristic techniques of great western music. The lecture will be accompanied by a live demonstration as well as specially recorded samples of great music.
Although the lectures form a series, they can be attended individually as well.
About The Speaker:
Mark Lindley is a noted musicologist as well as an historian of modern India and a teacher of economics. He has published more than a dozen books and more than 100 scholarly papers. Born in Washington D.C. in 193, he studied at the Harvard University (A.B.), the Juilliard School of Music (M.S.) and the Columbia University (D.Phil.), and he has taught at the Columbia University, Washington University, Oxford University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Istanbul Technical University and the University of Kerala. He has lectured recently on economics at the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics and at the University of Hyderabad.
