Shilparamam, as part of the ongoing sari festival, is organising a Kuchipudi dance recital by Amani Reddy, on the 6th of October. Amani will be presenting 6 solo Kuchipudi items, namely Vinayaka Prarthana, Manasa Sancharare, Alarulu Kuriyaga, Tarangam, Swarajati and Chidambara Koutvam.
Amani is a 14-year-old student, with already over 60 performances to her credit, and is a recipient of Nitya Bala Ratna Award last year from Dr C Narayana Reddy. She's been learning dance since the age of 8, under the tutelage of M Surya Prakash.
She has given performances in Durg (Chattisgarh) and Tirupati, in addition to Ravindra Bharathi, Shilparamam, Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha and other cultural venues at Hyderabad. With the 2nd prize in the All-India Dance Competitions at Hyderabad being her notable achievement, she also has many other prizes to her credit.
