Shilparamam is presenting a Kuchipudi recital by Jayanti Narayana & Group, on 20th October, as part of the Navratri celebrations. Jayanti Narayana, along with her disciples Tulasi, Madhu, Bhanu Sharanya, Roshni, Hamsa and Mounika, will start the recital with a Vinayaka Koutvam, followed by Saraswati Keertana, a Jayadeva Ashtapadi - Srutha Kamala, Tarangam, Tillana and finally a dance ballet called The Five Elements (air, water, fire, sky and earth).
The dance ballet is designed and choreographed by Jayanti Narayana, who also takes care of nattuvangam. B V S Sastry with the vocals, Nageshwara Rao on the mridangam and Rajshekhar on the violin, complete the orchestra.
Jayanti Narayana is an M A in Kuchipudi from the University of Hyderabad, and has an experience of more than 25 years in dance. She established Pranava Fine Arts in Bowenpally five years ago, and currently has 25 students at the institute.
Jayanti Narayana learnt dance initially from Neeraja Devi, and thereafter had advanced lessons under Vempati Chinnasatyam and Jonnalagadda Anuradha. She has participated in various dance festivals in Thanjavur, Bijapur and Delhi, and for the Andhra Music Academy in Vizag, Kalachakra in Amaravati, South Central Zone Cultural Centre in Nagpur and South Zone in Thanjavur. She has also choreographed a ballet called Chandrika Parinayam, for the Ministry of Tourism.
