The protectors of civil society turn out to be public enemy number one. The play Inspector Matadin Chaand Par, being staged at Chitramayee today, tackles this reversal of roles, where the corrupt police force tranfigures from friend to foe. It is based on a short story written by Sahitya Akademi Award winner Late Hari Shankar Parsai.
Director Naresh Kumar takes up fresh occurrences that are, right now, splattered across news channels and papers. The play critiques the entire justice rigmarole, where no distinction is made between a Sachin Pahari and a Sunny Rawat, and random bullets fly all over the place.
The program will start at 6:30pm in the evening. Please contact 3091-3922/2311-3308 for further details.
