The mighty India play the resurgent Kiwis in an all-important cricket test match, from 12th to 16th November, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. It is after a gap of 22 years that the city is hosting a test match, and you get to witness some of the biggest stars of international cricket from both the sides.
India will have the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, V V S Laxman, Gautham Gambir, Suresh Raina, Zaheer Khan, Pragyan Ojha and Harbhajan Singh. With 49 centuries, Sachin Tendulkar is one short of 50. New Zealand will feature captain Daniel Vettori, Ross Taylor, Brenden McCullum, Jesse Ryder, James Franklin, Jeetan Patel and Chris Martin.
After the dead pitch at Motera (Ahmedabad) unable to produce a result, the pitch at Uppal has been prepared to get a certain result. The pitch will assist bounce on the first day, and the spinners on the last 2 days. Since the ball is expected to come on to the bat, a feast of runs is sure on the cards for the first 2-3 days. As the first 3 days fall during the weekends, the Hyderabad Cricket Association is expecting a large turnout.
