Hindustani Sangeet Mahotsav: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR HINDUSTANI SANGEET MAHOTSAV

The department of culture, as a part of 'Jhankar - Hindustani Sangeet Mahaotsav', is organising an evening of Vocal and Tabla recitals by exponents from the traditional Gharanas of North India who specialize in showcasing the nuances of Classical Hindustani music. This festival is a part of the continuing effort by the Government of AP and Department of culture to bring all the various forms of performing arts from all over the country to the city.

In this program, Ms. Lalita Kurolkar - a Hindustani vocalist will perform the various types of ragas improvised over the years by the various Gharanas of Hindustani music. This will be followed by a Tabla recital by Ustad Shabeer Nayaz and his troupe, which specializes in the classical form of tabla belonging to the famous Nayaz Gharana of Uttar Pradesh.
