Tagore's Shantiniketan has honed so many great minds, it is only reasonable to expect that these two products of Shantiniketan's Kala Bhavana, Viswabharati, have something to show you that you would rather think a fine use of your time.
Hiroko Tsukamoto is a specialist in murals, in which she did her MFA from Kala Bhavana. She is also trained in Jaipur Fresco and the Traditional Kerala Mural technique from Guruvayur. She has exhibitied both in India and Japan, from where she did her BFA.
Her paintings at the State Art Gallery are mostly small landscapes with very few figures, if any. Her experience with minitaures shows in the form of keen and precise images in small format. Her nightscapes are most distinctive of her.
Srinayani Reddy also did her MFA from Shantiniketan. However, she is a pucca Hyderabadi of-course, and did her BFA from our very own prestigious JNTU School Of Fine Arts. She has participated in a number of workshops and installations and Shantiniketan.
Her work has a strong presence of both nature and man, and shows her own transit from the placidity of Shantiniketan to the urban landscape of Hyderabad.
The exhibition is on from 1100hrs to 1900 hrs everyday till the 26th of March. Please contact 3091-3922, 2311-3308 for further details.
