T Sarath Chandra is a veritable giant as a Ghantasala scholar. He has written an entire body of literature, 22 books in all, about Ghantasala, called the Ghantasala Sangeeta Kalasala.
In his career of 15 years, he has sung the songs of practically every playback singer in Tollywood, but Ghantasala has been his personal favourite to whom he has dedicated a substantial body of reasearch which shown in his concerts.
The Ghantasala Musical Nite on the 5th of April will have Sarath Chandra portraying the evolution of Ghantasala's voice over a period of 30 years, starting 1944. Chandra's voice analysis of Ghantasala will be depicted graphically and described by AIR and TV anchor Ram Babu.
Most of us know Sarath Chandra enough to be his fans, but the neophytes will do well to understand that he is a man who has recieved tremondous approbation from music lovers which show in awards like Gyana Gandharva, Swara Hamsa, Gana Srestha, Gana Kalaprapurna, Gold Medals and Adi Narayana Rao Award that have been heaped on him. The program will begin from 1800 hrs onwards on the 5th of April at Thyagaraja Gana Sabha.
