On the eve of the conferring of an honorary doctorate by the University of Australia upon Sudhakar Karant, a social service worker, Megacity Nava Kala Vedika has arranged for a felicitation program, on 14th December, at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha. On this occasion, a musical nite of Ghantasala melodies will be presented by renowned amateur singers of the city.
Nanduri Laxman Rao, Bala Kameshwar Rao, Sharat Chandra, Jaishree and Sharada Reddy, among others, will sing various hit solos and some duets of the legendary singer late Ghantasala, like Paadutha Teeyaga, Kalakanidhi Nijamainadhi, Kaanarara Kailasa Nivasa, Mukkoti Devathalu, Shilalapai Shilpalu Chekkinaaru, Kolu Koloyamma and Hello Darling Maatadava.
Megacity Nava Kala Vedika was established by Mallikarjuna Sarma about 5 years ago, out of his love for old cine songs. He stages musical nites every month at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha, by bringing in amateur artistes.
