American independence means free speech, free fireworks, and if you're with the Hyderabad Bicycling Club, free food. The cyclists are organising a Freedom Ride that day, starting at Gachibowli Stadium. The event starts at 7pm.
The club is organising two rides - a short ride and a long ride. The shorter ride, starting at 5pm, is for 17.76 km, signifying the year 1776, when the US was open for business. This will be a casual and fun ride that will remain relatively flat and unobstructed. The longer ride, starting at 7pm, is for 50 kilometers, representing the 50 states in the US, in a star-shaped configuration. Cyclists will meet at the entrance of Gachibowli Stadium, from where they will proceed to their destinations, ending it at what is referred to as Hyderabad's Champs-Elys
