Festival Of Films From Kashmir: The Play Is On - Film By Pankaj Rishi Kumar

Pather Chu Jaeri (The Play Is On) is a 2001 Kashmiri-Urdu-Hindi film (runtime: 44 minutes) by Pankaj Rishi Kumar.



The film follows two groups as they prepare for public performances, a rare phenomenon today. For the bhands, who daily witness the erosion of their way of life, each performance represents both a change as well as a repetition of the same brutal fact: that they are not free to share their revolutionary spirit.



The film festival is being presented by FD ZONE (Mumbai), in association with Kashmiris In Hyderabad, Moving Images, Documentary Circle Of Hyderabad, Prasad Film Labs, Lamakaan, University of Hyderabad, EFL University, NALSAR University, Annapurna International School of Film + Media & St. Ann's College. The festival will feature documentaries, features, shorts, readings and discussions on Kashmir.
