Here's an exhibition by minority group women - unfortunately, it doesn't have anything from Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez or Pamela Anderson, though they belong to that ultimate minority community: overhyped women with no talent whatsoever.
Development of Minorities Women in Urban Areas (DOM-WUA) is organizing an exhibition of various products made by women belonging to minority communities in urban areas for a period of 10 days.
DOM-WUA is a State government scheme formulated by the State Minorities Finance Corporation on the lines of DWCRA, but exclusively for minority women. As many as 1,576 minority women groups have been formed in the State so far and all these groups are engaged in activities like making of pickles and other products.
A 'Mahila Credit Card' scheme will be launched on the occasion, through which each eligible group would be entitled to a credit of Rs 50,000 from the State Minorities Finance Corporation. The groups' head would select five eligible members from their group and pass on the credit to them at the rate of Rs 10,000 each.
At this 10-day exhibition, products like pickles, zari, embroidery works, artificial flowers, perfumes, soft toys, saris, household utensils, toys made of sponge and various other hand-made products will be available at reasonable prices. Please contact 460-3015 for further details.
