In November 1989, shortly after the collapse of the Berlin Wall, members of the Ministry of State Security, the secret service of the German Democratic Republic, tried to destroy as many State Security documents as possible. When civil rights activists occupied the head quarters of the State Security in January 1990, they found more than 17,000 sacks of shredded paper. This film documents the current attempt to piece together the destroyed documents.
Directed by Anke Limprecht, 'Educational Film About State Security Files' won the Golden Mikeldi for Documentary and the German Young Film Makers Award, besides other awards at various international film festivals.
