DJ Arlene & Gladwin At Scarlet

With many guest DJs performing at the city's pubs this weekend, it's a problem of plenty for the conscientous party-goer. Another of the big ones this Saturday is at Scarlet, and features DJ Arlene and DJ Gladwin from Bangalore. Both are founding members of Club Raaga, an online clubbing community. The duo will be playing a wide range of music ranging from minimal and electro to tech and progressive.

DJ Arlene (Arlene Maria Gomez) is 22 years old, and the first ever lady DJ to break the barriers of the male dominated profession of disc jockeying in Bangalore. She started her career at the age of 18 as a freelancing DJ. Trained by DJ Gladwin, Arlene started off as a funky house DJ, but now plays retro, R&B, hip-hop, electro house, progressive house & trance. She has travelled all over India and has played for a huge variation of crowds.

Based in Bangalore, Gladwin started his career as a DJ back in 1993, a year when CD machines and mixers were just getting into the scene. He is one of Bangalore's most respected DJs, not just for being a senior, but for his work on the console. He plays everything from lounge to retro to R&B to hip-hop to mellow vocal house to funky house to electro house to progressive house and trance.
