What strikes you the most when someone mentions Karan Johar? Lavish sets apart, there's the question of sitting through a drama that never seems to end, at least for the next one-sixth of the day. But it's becoming increasingly clear that it's okay to tell a story in much less than one-sixth of a day - aspiring filmmakers, please note that audiences' attention spans are competing with that of a baby's.
Here's something on those lines - short running films by amateur directors at Short Film Festival at the Prasads Labs Preview Theatre, on 23rd August. Titled Cut It Short, the film festival will be on from 10am to 2pm.
Cinephiles Hyderabad, an online community of movie afficionados, is organizing the Short Film Festival, in association with Shamiana - a short film club from Mumbai. The festival will have screenings of short movies from international film festivals like Cannes, and also by some independent filmmakers from all over the country.
The event is organized into 3 segments - screening of short films by local amateur filmmakers (any language, non-English movies will have English sub-titles); interaction and discussion with movie personalities, some of them being Neelakanta, Ramana Gogula and Rahul Nambiar; and finally, the screening of short films from Cannes and other International film festivals.
