The Hyderabad Film Club is organizing an Italian Film Festival titled Rome In Classic Italian Cinema at the Prasad Labs Preview Theatre from 16th to 20th October. As a part of this festival, the Italian movie Chronicle Of Love will screened on 18th October, at 7pm.
Director Michelangelo Antonioni's first feature, the film is about a wealthy cotton tycoon, Enrico Fontana (Ferdinando Sarmi), who suspects his young and stunningly beautiful wife, Paola (Gino Rossi), of having an affair. He hires a private detective, Carloni, to investigate her past.
Married for 7 years, Paola is unhappy and restless, but never unfaithful to her husband, until she sees Guido (Massimo Girotti), her former lover. Having discovered that she's being investigated, Paola is enraged and anxious to be free again, and asks Guido, who is broke and unemployed, to take her away.
The movie was awarded the Italian National Syndicate Of Film Journalists Silver Ribbon Best Original Score, which was given to Giovanni Fusco, with a special Silver Ribbon being awarded to Michelangelo Antonioni.
