Unfolding The Raga, an exhibition of abstracts by artist Sanju Jain, is on at ICONART Gallery, from the 3rd to the 18th October. The paintings will be on display from 11am to 7pm everyday.
The collection consists of about 20 abstract art works based on seasonal changes and their underlying philosophies, and have been created using mixed media on canvas.
Jain, the artist, obtained his Masters Degree in painting from Indore. He participated in several prestigious solo and group exhibitions, including the 1989-99 All India Kalidas Exhibition (Ujjain), the 1994 M P Kala Academy (Gwalior), the 1994 State Award Exhibition (Bhilai),
the 1996-98 Raza Award Exhibition (Bhopal), the 69th All India AIFAS (New Delhi) in 1997, and the 68th Indian Academy Of Fine Art Award in 2002.
Sanju Jain has also received some awards for his works, some of which are the 1989 All India Kalidas Award (Ujjain), the 1996 Sanskar Bharti Award (Bhopal), the 1998 Raza Award (Govt. of M P), the 2000 State Award (M P), and the 2002 68th Indian Academy Of Fine Art Award (Amritsar).
