Joze, son of a poor fisherman, lives in a small village in Goa. He often accompanies his mother to Madgaon to sell the day's catch. Sometimes, they go to the Portuguese officer's house to deliver fish. Once when a group of school children come to the beach, Joze saves a boy, Gopu, from drowning in the sea. Gopu's teacher, Shyama Didi, encourages Joze to join school.
Through her, Joze learns that Goa is ruled by outsiders. A chance meeting with Mangesh - a freedom fighter known as 'Clever Fox', and the events that follow increasingly draw Joze towards the freedom movement. Joze overhears at the Portuguese officer's house that there is a plan to blow the bridge at Bori while the Indian army soldiers are crossing the bridge. His involvement in the ensuing struggle is certain.
The 14th Golden Elephant screening of Little Soldier will be its world premiere.
