The city is filled with stalwarts kicking off the Navaratri celebrations, and Shruthi is in an elite list. She knows what it's like - too well.
The S S Music Academy is organising a Carnatic vocal recital by Shruti Kasupa, at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha, on 23rd September. Shruthi will be assisted by Jaikumar Acharya on the mridangam, Anil Kumar on the violin, Srikanth on the kanjeera and Sharanya on the tampura.
The chief guest for the event is Padmabhushan Dr C Narayana Reddy. R V Chandran, Hyderabad District Collector, is the special guest, with other honorary guests being S V Krishna Reddy (renown cine and music director) and Madhavapeddi Suresh (music director).
Shruthi had her initial training of classical music from Kabalavayi Kesava Rao, Founder and Chairman of Vasavi College of Music and Dance, and got admitted into the college learning music from Seshamani. She even completed her Diploma in Music from the Potti Sriramulu Telugu University. She is now with S S Music Academy under G V Prabhakar.
She is also learning music theory under Y Balasubrahmanyam and non-classical music with Ramachary. She has participated in various concerts within Andhra Pradesh and received awards for her performance from cultural associations like Vasavi Art Theatres, Sangam Kala Group and Srujana Arts Theatres.
