Shilparamam, as part of its weekly program of music, is presenting a Carnatic vocal duet by V Bharathi & K R Aarthi on 22nd March. They will be accompanied by Kranthi Kiran on the violin and Shankar on the mridangam.
The duo will start the recital with a varnam, followed by Kamalamba in Kannada ragam, Gajanana in Chakravakam, Sudhamayi in Amruthavarshini and Paridhanamicchite in Bilahari, and some Annamacharya keertanas and Tulasidas bhajans.
Bharathi and Aarthi are cousins learning music from Ganga in Anandbagh since the last two years. Bharathi has done her diploma in music from the Madras University while Aarthi has done it from the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad. Bharathi is a housewife and Aarthi has just finished her graduation. The cousins have performed at Ravindra Bharathi, and at a couples of temples in Secunderabad.
