As part of the weekly program of classical music, Shilparamam is presenting a Carnatic vocal recital by the sisters K S N Vajra Lakshmi and K Ananthakrishna, this Sunday. The instrumental support for the recital will be provided by Subrahmanyam on the mridangam and R Dinakar on the violin.
The sisters will start the recital with the M S Subbalakshmi Ganapathi Pancharatna, and follow it up by various Thyagaraja, Annamacharya and other kritis, like Bhaja Manasa, Samaja Varagamana, Yedutanunnade Veedu, Tiru Veedhule, Govinda Govinda and Srinivasa Govinda.
Vajra Lakshmi and Ananthakrishna learnt music from T V Suresh Rao in Tirupati, and due to their deep involvement in their studies in Hyderabad, were unable to devote for music, even though they occasionally learn from Lalithamba. Vajra Lakshmi is the elder of the two, and is now studying in 2nd year Inter, while the younger sibling Ananthakrishna is in 10th class, at the Narayana College. They have given concerts in Tirupati and Guntur. This is their first concert in Hyderabad.
