To commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary composer Muthuswamy Dikshitar, Sangeeta Ksheeragaram is organising a Carnatic vocal recital by S Padmavati, on 21st April, at Kala Subbarao Kala Vedika, the mini-hall of Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha in Chikkadpally. Padmavati, along with L Ramesh Pai on the violin and S Aravind on the mridangam, will present some popular Muthuswamy Dikshitar kritis.
Padmavati is a B-High grade artiste of the All-India Radio, and a disciple of Srirangam Krishna. She is also good with the violin and Kuchipudi. She has performed in several places in India, like Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Tirupati, Srisailam, Yadagirigutta, Bangalore and Chennai.
Sangeeta Ksheerasagaram was started by V Ananda Mohan, a disciple of Late Uppalapati Ankaiah, and he has been organizing classical music shows in memory of his guru. As a tribute to the legend, it promotes upcoming and established artists by inviting them to perform in these concerts.
