Kalasagaram, a cultural association based in Secunderabad, is organising a Carnatic vocal recital by Duddu Radhika, at the Keyes Girls High School in Secunderabad, this Sunday. The recital is part of Kalasagaram's monthly program of classical music. Radhika will be accompanied on the violin by Ramaraju Dinakar and B Dharma Rao on the mridangam.
Duddu Radhika learnt music initially from Saraswati Vidyardhini, and later took guidance from Indira Kameshwara Rao in Vizag. Currently, she is undergoing advanced training under D Raghavachary, one of the Hyderabad Brothers. She is a B-High graded artiste of the All-India Radio, and has participated in various music concerts in Chennai, Vijayawada, Bangalore and Bilaspur, besides in Hyderabad. She won the Gold Medal in her M A Music that she pursued at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, and the Young Talent Merit scholarship from CCRT, Govt of India.
Kalasagaram is a South-Indian cultural association situated in the East Nehru Nagar of East Marredpally, and has been organising Carnatic music concerts for more than 35 years. The concerts are always held in the Keyes High School campus at the open-air theater. The singers are generally from outside Hyderabad, usually amateurs and upcoming artistes, and quite competent. Kalasagaram also occasionally stages South-Indian classical dances and Tamil plays.
