The 16th edition of the European Union Film Festival is being held from March 23rd to April 3rd at the Prasad Labs Preview Theatre. 19 films, focusing on the theme of "Laugh Like A European", will be screened at the festival.
Call Girl (Firmin), a Portuguese film, will be screened on the last day of the festival, April 1st, at 6pm. The film is directed by Antonio-Pedro Vasconcelos, and stars Soraia Chaves, Ivo Canelas, Nicolau Breyner, Joaquim De Almeida, Jose Raposo and Jose Eduardo.
Maria, a high-class call girl, is hired to seduce Meireles, the Mayor of Vilanova, in an attempt to obtain his permission to build a luxury resort on protected land.
Meanwhile, Madeira and Neves, 2 cops who are asked to handle the case, begin an investigation on the politician. But when Madeira finds out that Maria, the bait that will be used to lure Meireles into accepting the offer, is his long lost love, everything becomes complicated.
