Machiraju Meghana, a disciple of Rajeshwari Sainath, is performing her arangetram on 17th April, at Ravindra Bharathi. She will start the recital with an Alaripu, and it will be followed by Jatiswaram, Varnam, Okapari, Tillana, Panchakshar, Korati, and finally the Mangalam. The orchestra will be provided by Rajeshwari Sainath with the nattuvangam, Sangeetakala on the vocals, Srinivas on the mridangam, Chander Rao on the violin, Venkatesh on the flute and Srikanth on the tabla.
Meghana was initiated into dance at a tender age of 7. With constant encouragement from her parents, she has been pursuing Bharatanatyam for over 6 years. Under the able guidance of Bharatanatyam exponent Rajeshwari Sainath, the 13-year-old, an eighth class student of Chirec Public school, has refined her skills.
Meghana has also been pursuing classical Hindustani vocal for over 3 years under the guidance of Govindrao from Badruka Music School. She has given many vocal and dance performances in inter-school and inter-state competitions. She is also an avid reader, and versatile in speaking several languages.
