REVIEW FOR ANNAMAYYA AND RAMDAS NITE
Children are born with god's gift like screaming and throwing a tantrum. Udaya Lakshmi's children are an exception. They can sing!
A musical evening is being organized by the students of Udaya Lakshmi at Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha tonight. Udaya Lakshmi has an MA in Carnatic music, and an experience of 25 years in the music arena. She has given numerous performances at Ravindra Bharathi, and is a regular face in the Doordarshan and ETV musical programs. She has about 20 students in her tutelage, and 12 of them will be performing tonight.
The musical program is divided into three parts. In the first part, her students who are below the age of 10 years, will present 6 keertanalu of Annamayya and Ramdas. In the second, children in the age group of 12 to 14 will present 4 songs of the same duo. Finally, Udaya Lakshmi, along will her senior students, will perform songs of Annamayya and Ramdas. She will also sing four of her own compositions.
The Chairman of CAPCO, Mandedi Krishna Reddy, and the President of Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha, Kala Venkata Dikshitulu, will preside over the event. Among the other dignitaries are hypnotist Dr. V Nagesh, Doordarshan serial director Vaddepali Lakshmi Sharat and Congress union leader P Sudhakar Reddy. A minimum of 1,000 people are expected to attend this musical program.
