The 36th annual convocation of Acharaya N. G. Ranga Agriculture University (ANGRAU) will be held in its campus at Rajendranagar on 19th Feb. On the agenda is awarding of degrees and diplomas for the year 2002 and also creating a forum where the latest trends in the field of Agri-produce can be discussed.
ANGRAU, keeping in view the market demands, has been trying to modify its curriculum and forging ties with several universities to improve the standards of research facilities available in the university there by enabling better techniques to be developed and put into practice. Also, in the recent times new courses were introduced not only in the in the under-graduate and post-graduate level but also in the field of job oriented diploma courses which have been getting a good response.
In the convocation, 912 students' including 40 research scholars will receive degrees and diplomas. The Governor and Chancellor, Sushil Kumar Shinde, will preside over the function while Mangala Rai, Director General, Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) will deliver the convocation address.
