A2H 3rd All India FIDE Rated Chess Tournament: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR A2H 3RD ALL INDIA...

A2H Chess Academy, in association with Rangareddy District Chess Association and Hyderabad District Chess Association, will organise the 3rd All India FIDE Rated Chess tournament from 17th to 19th December at the HVYA Bhavan (Vasavi Seva Kendram) in the city. Players from all over the country are expected to participate in this tournament. Last year, this tournament was won by Anurag Jaiswal of Kolkata.

Players with FIDE rating of below 1600, and who are unrated, are eligible to take part in the tournament, and there is no age limit. The tournament will be held in the Swiss league format, and each round will be of 2 hours duration. 1st to 3rd rounds will be played on 17th December, 4th to 6th rounds on 18th December, and 7th to 9th rounds on 19th December. Prize distribution will be held on 19th December, 4.30 pm onwards.

Participants should bring their own chess sets and clocks. AICF registration / renewal for the year 2010-2011 is mandatory for all participants. The total prize money for the tournament is Rs. 50,000, and will be given as below:

Winner - Rs. 10,000

2nd place - Rs. 6,000

3rd place - Rs. 4,000

4th & 5th Place - Rs. 3,000 each

6th to 8th place - Rs. 2,000 each

9th to 20th place - Rs. 1,000 each

Top 3 unrated players - Rs. 1,000 each

Early Bird Top 3 (from first 50 entries) - Rs. 1,000 each (on merit basis)

In addition to the above, special trophies will be given for the Top 5 players in the juniors category, Top 5 players in the sub-juniors category, and toppers in the under 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 years age categories.

Entry fee for rated players is Rs. 500 per head, and for unrated players, it is Rs. 2,000 per head. Entry is free for rated players who are also participating in 4th All India FIDE-rated Chess Tournament for players below FIDE rating of 2,100, to be held at the same venue from 20th to 23rd December.
