600th Annamacharya Jayanthi Celebrations By Rasanjali: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR 600TH ANNAMACHARYA JAYANTHI CELEBRATIONS...

The 600th Annamacharya Jayanthi celebrations are being organized by Rasanjali, the theatre group, on 8th June, at Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha, from 5:30pm. The event also marks the 2nd anniversary of Rasanjali.

The evening will be dedicated to various songs of Annamacharya. The singers who will perform are Surekha Murthy, who is also the organizer of the program, Shashikala Swamy, Madhavi, Hemabindu, Bhavani, Lalita & Jyothsna, the latter three of Little Champs fame. V Shankar Rao and Madan Gupta will do the narration. This is the 47th program being organized by Rasanjali, since it started about 2 years back.

Rasanjali was started on 8th June 2006 by Y Mallikarjunam, a theatre artist. It is an organization started with the intention of promoting the culture of the state. Towards this aim, Mallikarjunam organizes various programs during the year, including dramas, plays, musical nites, classical music and dance. Rasanjali also felicitates artistes with gold medals, swarna kankanams and mementos.

Mallikarjunam is still a part of the Telugu theater scene, and performs supporting roles in some plays organised by Rasaranjani and Yuvakalavahini. Please contact him at 99896-21149 for further details.
