Get set for a major splash of fun, as the 19th South Zone Aquatic Championships continue at the Gachibowli swimming complex. This unique zonal contest is the only one of its kind in swimming in the country. It has been organised successfully every 4 years right from 1979. All four southern states, namely Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka participate. The last contest was held in Chennai. The organisers this year are the AP Amateur Aquatic Assoication.
There are four age groups under 17 i. e. 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17. Water Polo competitions will also take place and the program ends on the eve of 29th. And if you are wondering who to root for, well the Hyderabadi favourites are the talented MS Divya, CM Sai Prasad, NNV Vineet and N Abhiram. Be around to cheer them and generally feel the spray of competitive spirit as the contest unfolds.
