The flamboyant presenter is at it again. And this time it is through a representation of the life and times of an absolutely non-flamboyant person. A man who, through the power of mere words, made one of the most prestigious religious congresses of the world go berserk, and put Hinduism firmly on the world map.
Interestingly, the Swami seems to be popular on the local theater circuit this year. There have been a plethora of groups that have taken him on stage, including the acclaimed one of Eeranki Seetaramaiah, which had the ideals of the Swami burst the Western bubble again.
We're not going to waste too much download time describing the performer. For those who tuned in recently, though, Sobha Naidu has been crowned with the Padmasri recently, a richly deserved honor after years of enthralling audiences with her very unique aura and presence. Her productions, which have included varied thematic subjects ranging from mythical to social, and which are choreographed in detail with elaborate cast, music, dance, drama and script, are going to have a biographical new entrant today.
Sobha Naidu plays Swami Vivekananda in this ballet, and will be supported by M V S N Murthy (playing Rama Krishna Paramahamsa), Saraswathi Purnima (Sarada Devi), Urvashi & Jayanthi (court dancers) and Soumya (Sister Nivedita).
Swami Vivekananda was born in the year 1863 and left for his heavenly abode in 1900. Naidu and her troupe will present his life from childhood to death in a sequential manner, covering the most important aspects of his life. This ballet is Naidu's own concept.
A S N Murthy, Director of Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellance, will preside over the function as chief guest.
Please contact Sobha Naidu or Nagaiah, Manager, at 763-4845/763-5688 for further details.
