Having evolved from clumsy flightless beings to graceful fliers, these creatures are not as bird-brained as you think they are.
The Birdwatchers’ Society Of Andhra Pradesh (BSAP) is organising a meeting of its members on th March. The film "The Life Of Birds" will be screened at the meeting, which will be held at the Association of German Culture (Goethe Zentrum Hyderabad), Hermitage Office Complex, Hill Fort Road, Nampally.
There will be discussions by the participating members. "Life of Birds" is a David Attenborough documentary. In this movie, Attenborough. a naturalist, hosts an exploration into the secret lives of the creatures of the avian world.
The first appointment is with To Fly Or Not To Fly - The History Of Birds. It showcases the evolution of birds, from the first flying reptiles to today's consummate navigators. You get to see how birds have made a claim to populate not only the air, but also the land - from being giant, extinct flightless birds to modern ostriches and emus.
The Birdwatchers’ Society Of Andhra Pradesh (BSAP) was founded as a non-governmental organisation in 1980 by a few enthusiasts of Andhra Pradesh with the object of spreading the message of bird conservation. The Society has grown during the years, and now has 600 members. It organises field trips, lectures, film and slide shows, nature camps, treks, waterfowl counts and other activities. It is registered under the Public Societies Registration Act-I of 1350 F, and the office is located at Banjara Hills.
