Techathlon is the annual technical symposium conducted by the Electronics and Communications Engineering branch of Vasavi College of Engineering (VCE). This year, the symposium will be held on the 12th & 13th of March, at the college's campus in Ibrahimbagh, Gandipet Road.

Electronics and Communications is one field that has always experienced a steady growth both in terms of research and money. While most of technical events take an esoteric note by being deeply rooted in the technical aspects, Techathlon bridges the gap between the industry and research houses.

A perfect blend of informals with formal events makes this an interesting event. With electronics industry powerhouses like AMD conducting workshops in the college as part of the fest, the symposium will give hands-on experience on various new innovations. A detailed list of events at the symposium:

Robitrix
There are three events in this section. They are:

Mud Race
The track road is made up of mud, and includes various other types of terrain too like rocks, sand, bridges, ascents and descents. The participant should complete the track in the least time. The best performance will be awarded.

Robomania
The robot should move the 3D polygons into a specified place. The 3D polygons will be randomly placed in the arena. There may be obstacles in the arena. While performing a task, the robot or the 3D polygon should not go out of the arena. The preliminary round will have a time limit, and the second round will be a knockout.

Stair Climber
The robot should climb a series of steps varying from 5 to 10. And it should reach the topmost step in minimum time. This is the preliminary level. As for the final level, anything could be added to the task of climbing stairs, and it will be correlated.

Spot Events

Circuitrix
Participants will be given a questionnaire consisting of a few circuits, and they are expected to solve them accordingly. The questions are mainly from network theory, and analog & digital systems.

Tech Extempore
Adjust yourself and speak on the technical topic given on the spot.

Tech Quiz
Participants are required to take a quiz on technical topics.

Technical Crossword
Solve the technical crossword based on the hints given.

Informals

LAN Gaming
Demonstrate your skills and wits with the other participants on the LAN, and become the champion.

Sudoku Puzzles
Solve the puzzles in one of the most popular games.

Virtual DJ
This event is for students who swear by the remix music numbers. Be a disk jockey for one night and take charge of the console.
