Drop an egg from a two-storeyed height without breaking it. Read all about Potenzia without wanting to get here. It's time for the seemingly impossible, at MGIT.
The department of Electrical Engineering at Mahatma Gandhi Institute Of Technology (MGIT), along with the IEEE, is organizing the 2-day National Level Technical Symposium "Potenzia '10" from the 6th to the 10th April, at the college campus in Gandipet. Last year, the fest received about 285 papers, and 585 students from all over the state participated in this event.
This year, the list of events is as follows:
Papers can be submitted on any topic from EEE, ECE, CSE and IT backgrounds.
Put in your ideas and turn them into beautiful models. Models can be from EEE and ECE backgrounds.
This event has 3 different sub-events - a robotics workshop, an aqua race, and robosoccer.
Both general and technical knowledge will be tested. Teams which clear the written round will be allowed to participate in the finals.
This is an event that has been held over the past 4 years, wherein each participant will be given an egg that has to be thrown down from a 2-storeyed building's height (approximately 40 feet). The egg should be prevented from breaking using contraptions like papers, balloons and cushions. The competition will be judged based on the time of travel of the egg and also the combined weight of the egg and the contraption.
A slight variant of the usual pictionary wherein one member of the team will be given a technical word and his team mate will have to guess the word based on the drawings of his teammate.
A collage is an artistic composition of materials and objects pasted over a surface. Here, the topic given must be presented using pictures or matter cut from the newspapers provided, and pasted on a chart paper. This is a chance to showcase your creativity and presence of mind.
Participants will be given a faulty circuit, that needs to be debugged.
