Chaitanya Art Theatres, in association with the Department Of Culture, is presenting a Kuchipudi dance ballet named Nritya Roopaka Avadhanam, on 21st May, at the Ravindra Bharathi auditorium. This is a unique ballet for which the script, choreography, music and special effects have been done in less than 24 hours. It is going to be the only ballet in the world created and performed in just less than a day, and the organizers claim it is the fastest ballet done in the history of Kuchipudi or any other dance form in India, and will be listed in world records.
The ballet is written by Dr. Rallabandi Kavita Prasad, poet and Director of the Department Of Culture. The music direction is by K Surya Narayana. Technical assistance is being provided by M V Nageshwara Rao (Chanti), the make-up is by M V Someshwara Rao and Varma, and the lighting is by Surabhi Purnachandra Rao and Kishore.
The dancers participating in this ballet are Manju Bhargavi of Shankarabharanam fame; Kalakrishna (Andhra Natyam dancer), Ajay Kumar of Sruthilayalu, Sutradharulu and Swathi Kiranam fame; and Pallavi, Nadiya, Raghavendra, Vijaypal, C H Srinivas, Geeta Poornima, Deepti, Shruti, Sameera and Jayanth Sai. The script has been choreographed into the dance form by K V Satyanarayana.
The sponsors for this program are Pragati Resorts, Shantha Biotech and Ashwini Homoeo & Ayurvedic Products Ltd, and the event is being managed by Exotic Events. The chief guest for the ballet is Dr. Vara Prasada Reddy, Chairman of Shantha Bio-Technics Limited. IPS officers B R Mallela and K V Ramana are the other guests for the evening.
