1709
1989 is the year of changes. Kristof Zeyk, a journalist in his fifties, suddenly has to face the question: how much can he assume of his past, the 40 years that he was an active participant but at the same time a sufferer of.
He is labeled as Stalnist and shock silences him. He tries to run away from the world and evaluate himself and his whole complicated life. While surrounded by silence and the beauty of the hills and the Lake Balaton, he gets over whelmed by his memories of World War II the 1956 revolution, his youth and his own compromise as well as that of his generation. He tries to find things to hold on to among his friends and present wife, and he perhaps finds it in his daughter.
Can some step out silence? Perhaps the pulling down of the Berlin wall and the revolution in Romania give him the opportunity to do so. After all, one must carry on.
