How many of us have exchanged clothes with the CM, leave alone exchanged faces and lives? Here's a clerk who didn't see either coming.
Rangadhara, in association with Sutradhar, is presenting RangSutra, a festival of theatre and arts, from 13th to 16th January, at the National Institute Of Fashion Technology auditorium, Madhapur.
Udaan will be presenting the late Vijay Tendulkar's play in Hindi "Hatt Teri Kismat", a story of a politician and a commoner swapping places. The play will be screened on the second day of the festival, the 14th of January, at 12 noon.
Hatt Teri Kismat is the Hindi version of Vijay Tendulkar's original Marathi comedy "Niyatichya Bailala", by Dr. Vasant Deo.
One fine morning, an ordinary clerk and an former chief minister who has been sacked, meet by chance at the beach. Their conversation reveals the hidden side of politics, the dirty games and wicked ways of politicians.
Suddenly the two perceive a crowd gathering. To avoid any problems, the CM persuades the clerk to exchange clothes with him, but in the hurry, their faces also get exchanged.
The CM's party then takes the clerk to be the chief minister, and reinstates him in the CM's post as per the high command's orders. Both of them meet once again after a year. The meeting leads to a humorous and thought-provoking climax.
