REVIEW FOR GRIEF OVER THE YELLOW RIVER - A CHINESE FILM BY FERG XIAONING
In World War II, Anjie, a woman surgeon, and some other Chinese Eight-Route Army soldiers rescue a US pilot called Owen. For the safety of Owen, who comes to help the Chinese against Japanese invaders and carries important military films, a number of soldiers in the Eight-Route Army as well as Chinese civilians sacrifice their live heroically.
Anjie gives her pure body to the Yellow River with her deep love to Owen and a great longing for the happy days to come. Half a century later, Owen comes back to the Yellow River looking back on those Chinese who sacrificed their lives for him.
