The Mechanoid club, the student organization of Department of Mechanical Engineering at Aurora's Engineering College, is organising DROIDZ '10, the annual national level robotics festival, on 8th & 9th October. Many colleges in Hyderabad and the state are expected to participate in this festival, which will have various contests and competitions including:
Paper Presentation
Topics related to "The Latest Trends in Engineering and Technology" under any branch (Mech, ECE, EEE, IT, CSE) will be submitted.
Death Valley
In this competition, robots are designed to travel over a wide range of terrains, which include sand, gravel, grease, inclined planes, speed breakers and many more.
Robo Rage
Here, the robots push, flip or do whatever they can to get their opponent off the arena.
Robo Soccer
These are soccer-playing robots. The team that makes the maximum number of goals wins the match.
Mud N Wheels
Robots race against each other, and the team with the fastest robot wins the game.
Robot Xpo
Various robots will be put up on display, and participants will explain their designs to the general public. The robot that is most appreciated bags the prize.
Aero Modelling
This is a workshop, the aim of which is to expose students the basics of aero-modeling and enable them to design their own glider that can fly.
Quiz
A quiz on technical topics. It is open to all branches of Engineering.
Photography
Some interesting snaps shot in the campus can be exhibited in this exhibition.
LAN Gaming
The participants will be locking their horns in the following games:
