An engineer and a doctor - now that's a pair of professions that's music to the ears of most Telugu parents. Together, however, these siblings create more music.
Sujanaranjani is presenting a Carnatic vocal evening by the Dhulipala Sisters on 29th August, at Saptaparini. They will be accompanied by Kapa Srinivasa Rao on the mridangam and Mangalampalli Suryadeepti on the violin.
The Dhulipala Sisters, Swati and Soumya, are disciples of T P Chakrapani. They had started learning music together at a young age, and have performed at various places in Hyderabad, and also for Doordarshan (Hyderabad). Both the sisters completed their certificate courses in music from the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, with distinction.
Swathi is the elder of the two, and has a Visharada Pratham certificate from the Gandharva University. She completed her M Tech from IIT Chennai, and is currently working as a software engineer for Deloitte. Sowmya, who has a Madhyama Pratham certificate from the Gandharva University, is now in her 4th year of her MBBS degree, in Hyderabad.
