The G P Birla Archaeological, Astronomical and Scientific Research Institute (GPBAASRI), in collaboration with the Academy for Science, Technology and Communication (ASTC), is hosting World Health Day celebrations on April 7, 2025, at 3 pm at the Bhaskara Auditorium, B M Birla Science Centre, Hyderabad. This year's theme, Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures, emphasizes maternal and newborn health. Dr K Srinath Reddy, a distinguished professor at the Public Health Foundation of India, will deliver the Prof V Ramalingaswami Memorial Lecture titled "Public Health: Broadest Bridge Between Science and Society". Additionally, Dr Evita Fernandez, CMD of the Fernandez Foundation, will present the keynote address, "Birthing a Better Future: Navigating the New Realities of Maternity Care", discussing topics such as the role of maternal microbiomes in newborn survival and factors affecting women's health.
