The Great Hyderabad Adventure Club is hosting the first ever internationally accredited and certified WILDERNESS FIRST AID COURSE in Hyderabad conducted by Hanifl Centre, in partnership with AERIE Backcountry Medicine, USA. The course comprises of a 16-hour (WFA) module and a 4-hour Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) module and is accredited by Wilderness Medicine Society (WMS) and American Heart Association (AHA).
?Wilderness? in the context of ?Wilderness Medicine? means when one is at least an hour away from medical help, which effectively in the Indian scenario applies to almost every place, let alone the remote & wild places. "Wilderness Medicine means standard medical principles provided in a context that requires attention to extended contact time with the patient, environmental extremes, treatment with limited and non-specialised equipment that may require improvisation, and the possible lack of communication."
