Some couples prefer to play out their love in the open - Srikanth and Pavani certainly do!
Kalasagaram Cultural Organization is presenting a vocal recital by M Srikanth on the 16th of December. This musical night will see Srikanth accompanied by wife Pavani Srikanth on the violin, and D S R Murthy, on the mridangam.
Srikanth is a veritable exponent of violin as well as vocal Carnatic music, and he, along with Pavani, has founded an NGO, Nadopasana, in Detroit, USA. Srikanth is the recipient of the National Talent Search Scholarship, as well as innumerous other honors.
He started his training under his aunt A Kanyakumari, and later practiced under P S Narayana Swami of Chennai, and Kalanidhi Krishnamurthy. Currently, he lives in Detroit with his wife, who herself is a well-known violinist.
Kalasagaram is dedicated to South-Indian classical music, and it organizes regular festivals by inviting renowned musicians, both instrumentalists and vocalists. Carnatic music lovers who are among the regular visitors (most of them being Tamilians) at Kalasagaram programs, also get to witness occasional classical dance concerts. Kalasagaram's events are always staged at the open auditorium of Keyes High School.
