Vignana Samithi is organising a voilin concert by Kamalakiran Vinjamuri, at Anand Nagar Community Hall, on 22nd August. The concert begins at 6:30pm.
Child prodigy Kamalakiran Vinjamuri will be playing Carnatic music on the violin, and will be supported by Srinivasa Gopalan on the mridangam and V Sridhar Acharya on the ghatam. Kamalakiran, residing in the USA, is the son of violin maestro Subhash Vinjamuri and Suchitra Vinjamuri. He is a disciple of the violinist Kanyakumari.
Kamalakiran has performed at several Carnatic musical concerts in the US and India. He specialises in full length concerts of two and half hours, and even includes some of his own compositions in his performances. He was awarded the Bahumuka Pragyashali award by Vijayawada Music Academy, and the Bala Vidvan award by the Hyderabad Music & Dance Academy.
This young artist is an all-rounder, and can play Carnatic music on the mouth-organ, keyboards, the violin and the mridangam. He recently won an award at the K V Narayanaswamy musical concerts in Chennai.
