The best thing to do on a Sunday evening is make a heroic effort to be happy. Here's Shilparamam making it extremely easy for you.
Shilparamam is organising a veena duet by V Achala Shankarnath and V Vineeta, as a part of its weekly program of instrumental music, on 17th September.
Shankarnath will start the evening with a recital of Varnam, followed by Mahaganapathim, Bantu Reethi, Pavanaguru, Samaja Varagamana and some Annamacharya sankeerthanas. She would be accompanied by her daughter Vineeta on the veena, Renuka Prasad on the mridangam and Sridhar Achary on the ghatam.
Achala Shankarnath is a graded artiste of the All India Radio, and has an MA in Veena from Potti Sriramulu Telugu University. She initially trained under Pappu Someshwar Rao, and later on under various gurus of music including Kalaimani Dr Suma Sudhendra, Bandi Shyamala and (currently) D Srinivas. She performs various concerts in Hyderabad. She established the Mahati Trust in 2004, which teaches classical Carnatic music for poor and needy students.
