The Saharanpur Handicrafts And Handlooms Board is organising a month-long exhibition-cum-sale, from 1st to 28th February, at the AP State Co-Operative Union Ltd., Gunfoundry. About 25 artisans from Uttar Pradesh will be exhibiting their products here.
The exhibition will feature several handicraft items, including such as wooden toys, artificial jewellery, scented sauf, Muradabad brass, leatherware and cotton durrie, among others.
In the handlooms section, the exhibits include Lucknow Chikan work, Kosa Tussar, Banaras silk, Chanderi and Maheshwari saris, applique work and bedsheets. But the major attraction of the exhibition is the wood-crafted furniture from Saharanpur. Also, there are finely crafted beds, dewans, sofas, telephone and pen stands, corner stands, book reading stands, swings and paper racks.
