Traffic hits you smack in the face without any apologies. It depicts the drug trafficking goings-on between America and Mexico. Three intertwined plots spell out the complexities of the drug trade business and those who fight it.
The first focuses on the life of the newly appointed head of the US Drug Policy Dept, James Wakefield (Michael Douglas). He has to deal with drug lords and his teenage daughter addicted to drugs. The second story revolves around Mexican drug enforcement officer Javier Rodriguez (Benicio Del Toro) who commits himself to the act of cleansing Mexico of drug lords. The final tale is that which features Catherine Zeta-Jones as wife of a recently busted drug dealer. She'll do anything to keep her family together.
The film cast includes Michael Douglas, Dennis Quaid, Don Cheadle, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Benicio Deltoro and Miguel Ferrer. The film was released in the year 2000.
