It's been 70 years since we have attained Independence but still a majority of the population does not even have a house of their own. Some have even seen the dream of owning a house and died with those unfulfilled dreams. Tin Tappar is a depiction of the problems faced by the labour class in India. The poor keep dreaming of having a pucca house, but those dreams are crashed by the builders and corrupt real estate agents. Instead, they have to live in slums which have houses covered with a tin roof. Few of them migrate to towns and cities in search of work and improve their standard of living while others become a victim of the political propaganda and accept their situation happily.
